WHAT WE DO

The Irish Soup Kitchen Centres were set up on October 15th 2013. The purpose of setting up these soup kitchens is to help people struggling with the downturn in the economy. We have seen men, women and children avail of our services.

All our soup kitchens, Drogheda, Balbriggan, Navan, Dundalk open 7 days a week from 9AM to 4PM, Sundays 10AM to 3PM. We serve breakfast, dinner and tea on a daily basis. Full details of all our restaurants are available here.

All are welcome and we like to make it a nice and friendly dining experience with all the features of a fine class restaurant.

We serve approximately 2,300 hot meals per week; originally we thought we would be serving approximately 800 – 1200 hot meals. It goes to show that no one knows just how bad things are unless directly in need.

The service we provide not only caters for the homeless, We welcome single parents, unemployed people or anyone that is in need, hungry or just needs someone to talk to.

We are opening our new soup kitchen in Dublin on Ushers Quay. The new facility will be able to serve up to 10,000 hot meals per week and we hope to provide up to 1,000 food hampers per week. We hope this will help some of the very worthy charities that are under pressure at this moment.

It is our intention to open another soup kitchen in Dublin North side at some time in the near future.

The board hopes to open a new soup kitchen in every County in Leinster and this could take up to five years.

We want all members of the public to know that we applied for our charity number from revenue and also we applied to the charity regulator. We have lodged our certified accounts with them and also with the CRO. It is important for people to know how their money is being spent.

We are looking for volunteers for all the centres, Please call 085 8811112 anytime.

We bought a van to do our food collections and our house to house deliveries. The van is refrigerated and meets with all health board standards. Since getting the van, it has made collections and deliveries a lot easier.

We travel the streets of Dublin on a daily basis 9AM – 3PM handing out sandwiches, milk and juices.

We recognise that there are a lot of good charities giving this service in the evening and at night. We hope this service will help people who can’t make it to one of these soup kitchens in the Dublin area.

We would like to thank all members of the public who has helped us on our journey to date, without your help this would not be possible.

On a final note for now I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteers who have helped us over the past few years for their great work and we hope for your continued support.
